Don Gibson is board certified as a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is the founder and president of Quantum Leadership (QL), a privately owned consulting, education, and training company formed in 2007. QL is also a membership company that provides results-oriented direction to careerists and those seeking to effectively address uncertainties and challenges. Don is passionate about assisting clients in addressing personal and/or business needs and positioning them for a sustainable future in their quest to learn more ways to enhance their effectiveness.
Don has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare arena. His previous roles in multiple healthcare organizations include COO of a teaching hospital, Vice President of Planning and Marketing, Vice President of Physician Relations, and corporate consultant for a large healthcare system with numerous hospitals in various states. On December 31, 2019, with QL serving as a management company, he completed 12 years as executive director of operations for one of the largest chapters affiliated with the American College of Healthcare Executives, ACHE-SouthEast Texas Chapter, and its independently affiliated 501c3 foundation. He has twice received the American College of Healthcare Executives Regent’s Award.
His formal education consists of a BA and MS in Biology from Southern Illinois University and a MHA in Hospital Administration/Planning from Washington University School of Medicine. He has also served as adjunct faculty for MHA and MBA graduate students at Texas Woman’s University, University of Houston — Clear Lake, Texas Medical Center, and the Houston Baptist University Center for Health Studies. He shared his knowledge with graduate students in business management and healthcare administration courses that included Organizational Behavior, Leadership, Healthcare Consulting and Entrepreneurship, Conflict Resolution, Human Resource Management, Hospital Management, and more.
Don is a US Navy veteran, having served in dentistry at the Annapolis Naval Academy and aboard a ship in Vietnam.
