SERIES: Taking Care of YOU! Mind over matter really does matter!

A man sitting in a chair outside near some trees.

It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood and I’m sitting in the backyard with my buddy, a somewhat moody Hercules, who has chosen to turn his back on me. Hercules behavior got me thinking about the connection between turning your back on someone, ignoring them

and mind over matter (that is, having thought processes that influence our physical reality).  In Hercules’ case, he may not have a mind, so it probably doesn’t matter! Just kidding!   Hercules is one of the most intelligent silverback gorillas I have ever known.   But”¦.. come to think of it, he is the only gorilla I have ever known!  Seriously though, mind over matter is very important in our daily lives because it is the use of our willpower to overcome challenges.  Sometimes we are our own worst adversary because our mind prevents us from achieving our goals or just getting past the struggles in our minds.  We need to avoid turning our backs on ourselves”¦.Haven’t most of us experienced at one time or another that if we genuinely put our minds to something it’s remarkable what we  can accomplish? Also”¦. it’s interesting to note that we might think that some people are successful because they are just lucky, or they were born with innate abilities.  Typically, that’s not the case. It’s our attitude that impacts our ability to be successful (that is, developing a mindset of mind over matter) People that have achieved success have done so by working not only harder, but smarter. This isn’t something I or anyone else can bestow upon you. You’re in control of your attitude. You have the power to get your mind right. Take care of YOU by convincing your mind to change its attitude to an “I can do” and your mind will help lead you to success.
